The streets leading to the First African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Morton Theatre tell many tales of black success in the South. Since the 1800s, the Hot Corner facilitated the genesis of black businesses in Athens and was the hub for black culture for years to follow.

BREAKING: Accident involving flipped vehicle blocks West Broad Street traffiC

ACCPD releases body cam footage from officers involved in fatal shooting

Body-mounted camera footage released from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department press conference on March 10 at 4:30 p.m. depicted multiple points of view of the fatal shooting of 34-year-old male Thomas Swinford, who was armed with an airsoft gun.
